There is no doubt; some books are viewed as ‘fabulous’ during a trip down 5th Avenue while being seen as ‘useless‘ on a walk through the park on Highland Drive. Piggie, by Don and Audrey Wood may only be truly appreciated if you are currently residing with a persistent 15-22 month-old sponge. The pictures are unquestionably magnificent, while the minimal word order is pertinent and engaging. The book begins by introducing the reader to the number Piggies (two of each) the author possesses. There are, of course; fat ones, smart ones, tall ones, silly ones, and wee ones. The next section demonstrates the numerous circumstances most Piggies find themselves in on a regular basis. In the conclusion all PIggies must go to bed with a special kiss good night.
I do believe I read this book an average of 10 times a day. Immediately after the back cover is turned I hear the words “more boopt” and we start at the beginning, again! Piggies, is a must own for a child’s first library.
