I believe I have mentioned before that the year 2014 was one of deep reflection for me. My family was going through a very intense bump in the road and I often found myself pondering (not doubting, but really pondering) my beliefs. Somewhere along the line I decided to read Heaven is for Real, about a 4 year old who had a near death experience. I didn’t love the book and didn’t feel deeply convinced of its authenticity. Shortly after this someone had recommended Proof of Heaven. I wasn’t really in the mood for another NDE (near death experience) story but decided to tackle the project anyway. I wasn’t disappointed. Proof of Heaven seemed very sincere to me and although I have always believed in life after death I find comfort in believing that people have seen more than what I am able to understand. Eban Alexander wasn’t a religious person and he understood how the brain works while in a coma. To me this gave some credibility. But even without the neurosurgeon side of things I feel like Eban Alexander told a good solid story of the afterlife that provides our crazy world with a bit of hope for something better to come.
