Meat Marinade:
1/2 tsp. Baking Soda | 1 Tbs. Water |
1 tsp. Sugar | 2 Tbs. Vegetable Oil |
1 Tbs. Cornstarch | 1 1/2lb. Flank Steak, sliced in thin strips |
1 Tbs. low-sodium Soy Sauce |
Whisk together all ingredients in a large bowl. Toss in the steak to marinade. Cover and refrigerate at least one hour, then proceed below.
1/2 c. low-sodium Soy Sauce (Don’t use normal, way too salty) | 1 Tbs. Sherry |
2 Tbs. Brown Sugar | 3 Tbs. Vegetable Oil |
4 Cloves Garlic, minced | 2 heads Broccoli, crowns only |
2 Tbs. Flour |
In a small bowl, stir together the soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, flour and sherry until smooth. Set aside.
In a large saute pan, heat 2 Tbs. of the vegetable oil over high heat until shimmering. Add broccoli and saute for 3 minutes, stirring often. Transfer onto a plate.
Carefully add remaining Tbs. of oil into the hot pan. Add the marinated meat and half of the sauce mixture and saute for 3-4 minutes, stirring often, until meat is cooked through and no longer pink. Stir in the broccoli and the remaining sauce. Saute for another minute. Serve.
