Bottled Apples

Todays project was Apples! I had debated for a few weeks on how I was going to preserve my recently purchased box of fuji apples. I made one batch of Apple Jelly but it didn’t make a very big dent in my big box. The next consideration was apple sauce or apple pie filling but both seemed too time consuming for the few hours I had available to me. I was visiting with my grandma last Friday and told her of my inability to decide which project to commit myself to when she suggested I just bottle the apples, like peaches. So yesterday I asked a friend of mine to help me (these types of projects are always more fun with a friend!) we were able to bottle 11 quarts of apples. I used the instructions from Pick Your Own. I feel a great sigh of relief at having the box emptied and feel even better knowing I have tried something new.
