The day was filled with strawberries, literally! After making jams, sauces, syrups, and spreads my kids were very tired of me telling them that the strawberries were for other things. Finally it was time to sit down and enjoy EATING!
Filling strawberries with chocolate was so easy.
1st I prepared the strawberries by cutting out the middle and placing them in an ice tray for stability.
*
2nd – I filled a ziplock bag with a handful of chocolate chips and put them in the microwave. I was careful not to burn the chocolate by stopping the microwave every 8-10 seconds and squeezing the bag to mix up the hot spots.
*
3rd – I snipped off one corner of the baggie and squeezed the chocolate into the patiently waiting strawberries. The kids even threw a few marshmallows on top!
Chocolate covered strawberries are a definate favorite in this house. Now we know that filling the strawberries with chocolate tastes just as good and is even a bit less messy! This works espeically well for small strawberries that can be popped into your mouth all at once!
