Fried Wonton Strips

Fried Wonton Strips are an amazing way to add a delightful crunch to soups, salads, and even ice cream!

Fried Wonton Strips

Peanut Oil Salt
Wonton Wrappers Other spices as desired

In a small frying pan heat about 1/4 of an inch of oil until hot.

Slice wonton wrappers to desired width.

Fry wontons in hot oil for a few seconds on each side until golden brown. Remove from oil and place on paper towels to drain. Sprinkle with on of the following combinations:

  • Salt
  • Salt and Sugar (Great for salads)
  • Sugar and Cinnamon
  • Garlic Salt
  • Italian Seasoning
  • Salt and Cumin

Eat plain as a crunchy snack or use for dipping in salsa and guacamole. Tastes great in Egg Drop Soup, Wonton Salad, Chicken Wonton Salad and Berry Compote over vanilla Ice Cream.

3 Simple Ingredients

*

I quick chop with a large knife.

*

Toss into HOT oil! (I suggest only frying 3-4 strips at a time. Here I had too many in the pan and many of them were over cooked by the time I took them all out)

*

Sprinkle with your choice of flavors to inhance whatever dish you are making. Although wontons are typically viewed as Chinese don’t hesitate to make Fried Wonton Strips to go with your Mexican or Italian dinners as well!
