1 Quart Pie Filling (or 2 cans) | 1/2 tsp Salt |
1/2 tsp ground Nutmeg | 1/3 Cup Butter (cold) |
1 1/2 Cups Flour | 3 Tbsp Milk |
2 Tbsp Sugar | 1 egg, beaten |
1 tsp Baking Powder | 3 Tbsp Sugar |
Preheat oven to 400F.
Stir together pie filling and nutmeg. Pour into an ungreased baking dish.
Mix together flour, 2 tbsp sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut butter into flour mixture using a pastry blender (mixture should resemble large crumbles). Add milk and egg. Mix until moistened.
Layer flour mixture over pie filling and sprinkle with remaining 3 tbsp of sugar.
Bake for 45 minutes, or until golden brown.
