Kiwi Strawberry Freezer Jam
*
Everyone loves strawberry jam but adding a bit of beautiful green Kiwi can make it all the better. Kiwi Strawberry Freezer Jam is equally as easy to throw together as regularStrawberry Freezer jam.
Here is what you will need:
1 ½ Cups Granulated Sugar
|
1 Pouch (1.59oz) Freezer Jam Pectin
|
2 Cups Crushed Strawberries
|
2 Cups Crushed Kiwi
|
- In a medium bowl combine sugar and pectin, stir well and set aside.
- Wash, hull, and crush your strawberries. Peel and crush Kiwi (the riper the kiwi the easier to mash and the better the flavor). I pulse mine in the blender but if you want your jam to be extra chunky use a potato masher.
- Add strawberries and Kiwi to sugar/pectin mixture and stir constantly for 3 minutes.
- Ladle jam into freezer jars and secure lids. Let stand at room temperature for at least 30 minutes to allow the jam to thicken.
- Freeze.
As my two year old would say, “easy peasy”.
Think outside the box when considering the jam on your shelf. Next time you have friends over for a get together try serving your latest jam creation over cream cheese with Nilla Wafers or Graham crackers.
