Rice Heating Bags
- Large bags, like my kids have, are great for putting in a cold bed with you or placing on sore and aching muscles.
- Small felt rice bags are great for putting in your pocket while out in the cold (think how different the Christmas parade will be this year with warm hands!!).

- In the past I have taught classes with very small children who have a difficult time sitting still and keeping their hands under control, giving them a rice bag to ‘keep warm’ helped tremendously!
- Taking dinner to a neighbor or a party? Use a rice bag to keep the food HOT or COLD! You can even make a bag that will wrap around a jug of milk!

1- To make a rice bag out of fabric (100% cotton or felt work the best, avoid using flannel) simply cut 2 pieces to the desired size (15×18 works well).

2- Sew 2 pieces using a zigzag stitch around the outside with RIGHT sides together; be sure to leave a 2 inch opening for turning and filling.
